All Women Stalk

Thanksgiving has come and gone and it is time to jump back on the bandwagon and forget the tasty treats from our Thanksgiving feasts. I did allow myself to eat what I wanted on Thanksgiving weekend, but I tried not to go hog wild. It is said that the average American Thanksgiving feasters eat around 6,000 calories, while I did go for a nice walk on Thanksgiving day {and plenty of walking on Black Friday} I know I did not burn that kind of calorie count.

My gym access card in hand today I work and then head to the gym for the first time in over 2 years. I look forward with excitement and trepidation.  I hope to find a routine that works well for me and then I will let you know what I decide on. I know I will use the elliptical machine {I have always preferred it to a stationary bicycle and a treadmill} and there are plenty of weight machines to start up on as well.

I have found a new website All Women Stalk via a pin on Pinterest it is a collection of women and their blogs while I pay most attention to the 'weight loss' section it also include sections focusing on hair, makeup, beauty, fashion, celebs, cooking, travel, and more!

10 Days

It has been exactly 10 days since my last post and I feel like a wee bit of a failure. But that is okay, I am back on the band-wagon and am ready to rock it! I got my FitBit One on Thursday night and I was SO excited! I love it! My profile finally has some stats on it and I can finally compete with my contacts. I was gone all weekend for a wedding which included a very long road trip so my walking scores on those days weren't so spectacular but things are looking up from here on out.

Additionally I have learned that since I work on the George Fox Campus I also get access to their gym, I am so psyched about this! Meaning I can now workout after work, do a little running on the elliptical machine and get a more rounded weight training regiment. I cannot wait to share my ever shrinking waistline.

The Thanksgiving weekend is nearly here and I am set on being good {sure on Thanksgiving day I will allow myself to eat dessert, but only the day of} and of course I have Black Friday shopping the day after Thanksgiving {even I am throwing a sale} which will result in lots of walking {my FitBit will enjoy that one}.

Goal for today is to beat my steps score from yesterday: 7,047 {had to serve yesterday, that didn't help, working at the cafe today, so we will see how the two compare!}.

Secret Snacker

Hello, my name is Hannah Sam and I am a secret snacker. 
Calories eaten in secret don't count, right? NO!

I've heard it before from other ladies, "I eat so well at home but when I come to work I'm not so good and I tell my husband I don't know why I am not losing weight". I myself have thought it, "I'm tracking 1400 calories or less a day on MFP for weeks and I'm not losing weight".

Well, we forget to add the 15 calories here, there 40 calories there, and that small donut you snagged off the table right before you left the office. Well of course, if your calories out is less than your calories in you are not going to lose weight, it is a simple matter of math; 2+2=4 but I spent 5 so that's -1. Hurray, you did it! but when you sneak in that extra .5 and .8 you start having issues {-1+.5+.8=.3}.

I have made it my new goal to cut down on these secret snacks. No more snagging a bit of broken cake as I'm cutting deserts, no more sneaking a bite of the husband's pizza when he has left the room, no more hoping the husband won't notice that there are two less cookies in the cookie jar.

100 Calories

Now that I am back to counting calories with MFP I thought I would share somethings that I found to help me and hopefully they will help you too. Like, what does 100 calories look like {fitsugar.com}?


I have also decided that to help keep myself accountable to some degree I am going to put a picture on Instagram of every meal I eat and the approximate calories. My Instagram name is samsgirl33 if you are at all interested in following that. Today I am going to try to eat just about around 1624 calories {sprinkling CHEAT on everything, of course}, we will see how this goes! I got 2 of my 3 meals posted on Instagram...my phone was being used as an iPod during dinner for the crew so I wasn't able to take a picture.

I had a total of 1639 calories, the goal being 1624, I did go a wee bit over...and I did splurge on my lunch and I probably should have saved that for a different day with a higher calorie goal {well, a lesson learned}. Until tomorrow dear folk!

Apple Chunks and Tuna

Today is a new day, I kind of cheated a little last night by eating a few bites of my husbands milkshake without cheat...yipes...luckily there was no weight change this morning after yesterday's eat day. Today I am back on protein and I am going to be out and about most of the day. Meeting up with my mother and we are going to do some thrift store shopping and then I need to go to the grocery store! Woke up earlier this morning than usual just for that reason. So I am off on another adventure, if anything exciting happens I'll let you know!  (•‿•)    I have officially decided to quit the rigid protein cycles of Ignite and am going to continue with what they deem the Zig-Zag concept {I'll include the model chosen for me at: FreeDieting.com after today's menu}.

Day 5 of Ignite

Today I decided I was not going to do another round of Ignite any time soon. It has brought results and I do feel healthier, but I am not sure it is entirely what I want at this time. Particularly with Christmas coming up and deciding whether to spend money on me or other people and also just wanting to force myself into a more natural healthy lifestyle. Meaning I need to work out more and eat "real food" more often so that I can eat what I need to be eating and enjoying it too. Not to say I will completely stop with Xyngular products, I am going to stick with the CHEAT and the LEAN for sure. Adding a little protein for snacks, breakfasts, and desserts are great and getting a little less fat with my meals sounds like a good plan to me!

At Long Last


I started my Jillian Michaels DVD for the first time, and seeing as I am very out of shape, I was not able to finish all 6 circuits. I did do 1.5 circuits {minus the jumping jacks because I am on a second floor and it is a little early in the morning} and I did a few things on the Wii Fit Plus as well. I weighed in and I have lost 1.3 lbs from yesterday, putting me a hair above 158 lbs.; by the end of this 8 day Ignite I hope to be as close to 150 lbs. as possible.


Day 4 - protein
√  Take 1 Xyng (pill) first thing in the am {7:45 am}
√   Breakfast shake- 8 oz water with one scoop protein and 1/3 cup steel cut oats   {8:30 am}

Time Change, Say What?


I just LOVE getting an extra hour of sleep, I really needed it. I had to work yesterday {I don't usually} and it was a long day! But today is my first eat day of my second Ignite week and I am looking forward to some turkey burgers! Today was a hard day for some reason. I weighed in, having lost 1.5 pounds from yesterday. I love food and I love flavour and not being able to eat food to much of an extent is difficult. I loved having peanut butter at lunch, cottage cheese, ketchup...and all I really wanted for dinner after my long day was peanut butter, fruit, and a little bit of chocolate.

√   Breakfast shake- 8 oz water with one scoop protein {9:45 am}
√   Mid morning snack- 5 ounces boiled chicken breast and low fat string cheese  (Sprinkle CHEAT) {11:30am}

What is Xyngular

Slimmer by December


Here we go again, and this time it will be better, much better! I am excited to start my second Ignite and I have learned a wee bit more about the product and the required diet so hopefully this time around the results will be better. In addition I am including workouts, which I really didn't do the last time around. To help keep my accountable for these exercises I am also taking a part of a challenge proposed by the Mama Laughlin Fitness Camp on Facebook. We are required to have a workout of some sort everyday in the month of Novemeber. It is a contest to see who will lose the most weight. I am excited about this and have faith that I will have great results this month {because positivity is key!}. Yesterday I worked on core and some weights and today I walked. Sadly, I will not get an opportunity to try out my new Jillian Michaels DVD until Monday when my husband is in school. Wish me luck!

And Tomorrow it Begins Again

Wow, I was doing so well at stifling cravings and eating only what I was supposed to be eating when I was actually on the program, but now that I have these 5 days before I start up again I am having serious issues. It's like I know all these things will be off limits so I need to eat them now {a very bad mentality to have}. My mother came by last night and she brought me some groceries to help with my second Ignite which starts tomorrow {and I will take different before and after photos again}! I am going to have to start packing a dinner on my eat days because it is so difficult to have a straight protein dinner at the cafeteria without sauces or fillers and it is usually 8:30 or later before I can get anything made and eaten at home after work which isn't good either! So there you have, a quick update on that!

I finally got my Jillian Michaels DVD! And tonight my husband is in class until late so I will have time to check it out! We're having some sort of inspection today at the apartment and I had to move all my furniture 12+ inches from all the baseboards; meaning I have to move all of that back before I even think about doing Jillian Michaels, but hopefully it won't take too long...although, I have thought about rearranging the living room seeing as everything is already not in it's place already and I think it may give us a little extra space so I am going to have to measure and compare that as well. Now you can see how it can be so difficult to fit in a workout sometimes, haha.
