Well, I might as well start from the "beginning". I've realized that I have been totally focusing on results and not being the best at trying to change my actually habits and thoughts. I decided that this needed to change! I got on Facebook {don't we all anymore?} and I made a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/hannahsgethealthy/" target="_blank">group of friends</a> who I knew were also interested in getting healthier and losing weight. I try to post at least once a day some sort of inspirational photo, status, or combination there of to help not only them, but myself at making it through rough patches and to stay motivated. A friend introduced me to Biggest Loser online and they have little challenges and such that you do. It was here that I found an idea that I have taken on and am making a habit. Every time I go into a restroom I take the time to do 10 squats while I am there {do this inside the stall unless you want to look a little funny}. It has worked out great! I am looking at adding a new habit soon and have thought about doing 20 jumping jacks when I first get out of bed {or something like that, holler if you have any good ideas}. I have also really tried to focus on the foods that I eat, not only am I trying to eat fewer calories, but I am really honing in on good food choices and then I will later spend more time focusing in on the calorie intake versus usage. I am eating lest white carbohydrates and am trying to eat more whole grains. I have learned that I really enjoy quinoa, barley, and wheatberries when they are prepared properly. <br />

I really feel good about what I have been doing and where these steps will take me. Still, my greatest downfall is still sweets!! I am consistently having urges to eat ice cream, chocolate, and desserts with fruits. Taco Bell has always been my favourite fast food restaurant and it's become the one thing I crave the most when I am starving, drinking alcohol, or what I always respond with when my husband makes me decide where we are going to eat. But do not worry, I resisted eating even a bite of his food and it was a little difficult.</span><br />

I am currently at my heaviest ever; 170 lbs {only 1 lb more than my previous high, but nonetheless depressing}. With the strongest of determination I am starting off good. All this week I am still working despite the fact that there is no school because there are still lots of things done, but seeing as there are no students that means there are little to no food distractions. {Hurrah!}<br />

I pretty much felt like a failure at everything you know how you have those days? On top of it all I have been battling a cold that just lingers like bad company. This evening though; after sitting down with a warm mug of tea {which always gets cold before I finish it because I forget that it is sitting there}, a blankie, chatting with a good friend, and spending some time online looking at Xyngular and Mary Kay {speaking of which I am working on making my Pinterest boards for both of these better so you should check them out}, I have been inspired again!<br />
<br />
Now, when I say things are getting bad, I mean they were getting bad. I put chocolate chips in my dry bowl of cheerios every morning until my cheerios ran out and then I just kept eating the chips! I have decided that as soon as I get rid of this blasted cold I will exercise, even if it means walking outside in the cold {and wearing layers of clothes to ensure I don't get sick again}. And as soon as the Christmas break officially starts for students I will resume my weight loss and healthy eating habits by starting another Ignite week. I think it will be the best time because there will not be loads and loads of unhealthy and tempting things to eat lying around all day and I will have more time to make sure I am staying active.<br />

I haven't told my husband yet, but I am really going to start working on him to be more active too. He decided to a do a bit of a P90X workout the other day and he complained for the following 4 days because he felt so sore from the immense amount of push-ups and stuff he did. I want to start doing more things together even if he is capable of doing twice as much as I am.<br />

I did allow myself to eat what I wanted on Thanksgiving weekend, but I tried not to go hog wild. It is said that the average American Thanksgiving feasters eat around 6,000 calories, while I did go for a nice walk on Thanksgiving day {and plenty of walking on Black Friday} I know I did not burn that kind of calorie count.<br />

My gym access card in hand today I work and then head to the gym for the first time in over 2 years. I look forward with excitement and trepidation. I hope to find a routine that works well for me and then I will let you know what I decide on. I know I will use the elliptical machine {I have always preferred it to a stationary bicycle and a treadmill} and there are plenty of weight machines to start up on as well.<br />

But that is okay, I am back on the band-wagon and am ready to rock it! I got my FitBit One on Thursday night and I was SO excited! I love it! I was gone all weekend for a wedding which included a very long road trip so my walking scores on those days weren't so spectacular but things are looking up from here on out.<br />

Additionally I have learned that since I work on the George Fox Campus I also get access to their gym, I am so psyched about this! Meaning I can now workout after work, do a little running on the elliptical machine and get a more rounded weight training regiment. I cannot wait to share my ever shrinking waistline.<br />

The Thanksgiving weekend is nearly here and I am set on being good {sure on Thanksgiving day I will allow myself to eat dessert, but only the day of} and of course I have Black Friday shopping the day after Thanksgiving {even I am throwing a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151134059927055&set=o.231691403560598&type=1&theater" target="_blank">sale</a>} which will result in lots of walking {my FitBit will enjoy that one}.<br />

Hurray, you did it! but when you sneak in that extra .5 and .8 you start having issues {-1+.5+.8=.3}.</div>

I have also decided that to help keep myself accountable to some degree I am going to put a picture on Instagram of every meal I eat and the approximate calories. My Instagram name is samsgirl33 if you are at all interested in following that. Today I am going to try to eat just about around 1624 calories {sprinkling CHEAT on everything, of course}, we will see how this goes! I got 2 of my 3 meals posted on Instagram...my phone was being used as an iPod during dinner for the crew so I wasn't able to take a picture.<br />

I had a total of 1639 calories, the goal being 1624, I did go a wee bit over...and I did splurge on my lunch and I probably should have saved that for a different day with a higher calorie goal {well, a lesson learned}. Until tomorrow dear folk!<br />

It has brought results and I do feel healthier, but I am not sure it is entirely what I want at this time. Here we go again, and this time it will be better, much better! I am excited to start my second Ignite and I have learned a wee bit more about the product and the required diet so hopefully this time around the results will be better. In addition I am including workouts, which I really didn't do the last time around. To help keep my accountable for these exercises I am also taking a part of a challenge proposed by the Mama Laughlin Fitness Camp on Facebook. We are required to have a workout of some sort everyday in the month of Novemeber. It is a contest to see who will lose the most weight. I am excited about this and have faith that I will have great results this month {because positivity is key!}. Yesterday I worked on core and some weights and today I walked. Sadly, I will not get an opportunity to try out my new Jillian Michaels DVD until Monday when my husband is in school. Wish me luck!<br />

It's like I know all these things will be off limits so I need to eat them now {a very bad mentality to have}. My mother came by last night and she brought me some groceries to help with my second Ignite which starts <u>tomorrow</u> {and I will take different before and after photos again}! I am going to have to start packing a dinner on my eat days because it is so difficult to have a straight protein dinner at the cafeteria without sauces or fillers and it is usually 8:30 or later before I can get anything made and eaten at home after work which isn't good either! So there you have, a quick update on that!<br />

I finally got my Jillian Michaels DVD! And tonight my husband is in class until late so I will have time to check it out! We're having some sort of inspection today at the apartment and I had to move all my furniture 12+ inches from all the baseboards; meaning I have to move all of that back before I even think about doing Jillian Michaels, but hopefully it won't take too long...although, I have thought about rearranging the living room seeing as everything is already not in it's place already and I think it may give us a little extra space so I am going to have to measure and compare that as well. Now you can see how it can be so difficult to fit in a workout sometimes, haha.<br />

I know my package should be here by tomorrow. I have also heard rumours that FitBit One's are being shipped now and I am SO excited, because that means I should be getting mine before too long! To be honest, I loved being able to eat whatever I wanted on Saturday, but I also ate a lot more of things than I should have because I knew I wasn't going to get another chance for like 10 days, I think my body is ready to get onto a more consistent food plan again, though I must admit I will probably be looking forward to my next splurge day within a few days here. I was informed that results are best if waiting at least 5 days between each Ignite and so I am going to continue with my "eat days" and I <u>must</u> get better at following the program more closely until Friday. I have missed real food and so I have been splurging a little more than I should be. I probably won't be listing my meals every day like I had been before, not unless there is something particularly exciting that happens. I weighed in this morning and I have lost a total of 9 lbs since I started, which is exciting, but this next 8 day cycle I definitely need to lose at least the same amount if not more {they say you usually don't lose as much weight the second time around, just inches because you are muscling up as well}. Adding a more consistent workout, which for me will consist of a Jillian Michaels beginners dvd, the Wii Fit Plus, and Just Dance 2 & 3. I only really workout when my husband isn't at home, so that means Monday and Wednesday morning, Thursday night, and depending on his work schedule either Saturday and or Sunday evenings. Adding this to the 8 days Ignite shall truly help.<br />

Tomorrow I get a "splurge day" meaning, I don't hog crazy but I get to eat things that I missed and fill myself until satiated. I am excited about my meal plan. I will then take Sunday and Monday off and eat as if I were on an "eat day" on the diet then I start my 8 days of Ignite all over again on Tuesday. I weighed in this morning and I have lost 7.5 pounds. Which is exciting, though not nearly the 14 lbs that my mother lost. But we are not done yet, I still have tomorrow to finish off this first 8 day Ignite cycle. Tomorrow I will explain a little bit about what happens after the first 8 days and how to proceed to the next 8 days.<br />
